Dear KSEA Community,
As you may know, South Texas and Louisiana have been hit by Hurricane Harvey with record rainfall and catastrophic flooding. A lot of people are in desperate need of help. Our members and families are no exception. I hope we can come together to help those who are affected by this destructive storm.
Below is a summary of an email from our South Texas Chapter President Dr. Sukjoo Choi:
[I have survived, but it is difficult for me to face many friends and elders who are suffering and depressed in this disastrous situation. I wish I could help them, but I can not do anything. So, I despair, I really do.
South Texas including Galveston and Houston are still struggling through Hurricane Harvey. Thousands of Houstonians have been displaced from their homes and are staying at shelters or local churches. Some of our KSEA South Texas staff members are staying in shelters as well. Officials have announced a curfew is intact from 10 pm to 5 am due to increasing crime.
I requested the KSEA South Texas YG Director to find students who are in difficult situations resulting from this disaster.]
