2013 KSEA YOUNG INVESTIGATOR GRANTS

Dear KSEA members,

KSEA is pleased to announce the 2013 KSEA Young Investigator Grant, which intend to recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding early career development in science or technology. Two grants will be awarded this year, and details about the grants and the application are as follows.

Grant: US $10,000 grant for each recipient and travel support up to $1,000 to attend the award ceremony.?

Due Date: March 11 (Monday), 2013

Description: The KSEA Young Investigator Grant is the KSEA’s highest recognition to young professionals who have earned a doctoral degree and have been working in academia, industry, or government. Two young investigator grants will be awarded this year. One grant will be selected from the technical area of Technical Group of A through F, and the other one Technical Group G through M. Eligibility: Each applicant should be a KSEA member and have received a Ph.D. degree within five years of the application.

Application: The applicants should apply for the grant through the KSEA web page, http://yigrant.ksea.org. The required materials are a curriculum vitae, a research or technology development plan (five pages), and two reference letters. The application package should specify the technical area.

Evaluation: Evaluation of the applications and selection of the successful applicants will be conducted by the KSEA Honors & Awards Committee in collaboration with Technical Group Councilors. The recipient will be announced through the KSEA web page and vie email by April 15, 2013.

Administration: The grant is awarded through his/her institution, not directly to the recipient. A recipient must submit a final report, which summarizes the achievements supported through the grant and major expenditure(s) of the grant. A travel reimbursement of up to US $1,000 is provided to the recipient to attend the Grants ceremony, which will be scheduled later.?
