KSEA is pleased to announce that Prof. Kang-Won Wayne Lee (36th KSEA President) at the University of Rhode Island received commendation from the President of Korea.
The award ceremony was organized by the Korean Consulate General in Boston. However, Prof. Lee could not attend the ceremony since he stayed in Korea as a visiting distinguished professor of KAIST at that time. The related news article is posted below.
In addition, Prof. Lee will start serving as President for the Korean-American University Professors Association (KAUPA) from January 1, 2014. One of his vision would be fitting and promoting the progressive role of K-A Professors in the US higher education system.
KAUPA is an organization to include all the professional affiliated with institutions of higher learning in the United States and in Canada covering all area of fields, including Arts, Humanity, Social Sciences as well as Science and Technology. Three other former KSEA presidents have served as KAUPA presidents in the past: They are Professors, Ki-Hyon Kim, Hong-Taik Thomas Hahn, and Nak-Ho Sung.
