KIC-Tech Frontier Summer Internship Announcement

Korea Innovation Center Washington, D.C. (KIC DC) is currently looking for multiple Korean-English bilingual interns for upcoming program! As an intern, you will have exposure to various elements of startup modules such as business model canvas, business networking, customer discovery, and business verification.

 

Job Title: International LEAN Startup Internship

Job Summary

Interns will be helping with multiple weeks intensive Lean Startup entrepreneurial training and technology commercialization boot camps for teams of Korean researchers selected by the Korea Innovation Center Washington, D.C. (KIC DC) for the KIC DC Tech Frontier Program this summer. This will be a great opportunity for interns to engage with some of the best entrepreneurs/startups from Korea who are coming from prestigious universities in Korea. Interns will work closely with university-based Korean startup teams under the leadership of the GW Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and UC Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship.

 

Location: Washington D.C. & San Francisco *the whole program can be switched to online depends on COVID-19 restrictions

Term of internship:

Cohort 1 (DC): Jun 28 – Aug 3, Cohort 2 (DC): Jun 30 – Aug 17, Cohort 3 (SF): Jun 29 – Aug 5

 

Job Responsibilities (~20 hrs per week):

– Attend orientation prior to cohort start, dates TBD

– Attend virtual training sessions on the following dates TBD

– Work with the teams outside the classroom on the other days to:

o Provide logistical help to groups of Korean entrepreneurs and startup teams

o Help teams with U.S market research and customer discovery interviews

o Provide translation between Korean and English (& vice versa)

o Support program logistics/coordination as requested

– Engage with the teaching team and KIC

– Special projects/tasks as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

– Must be bilingual (Korean & English)

– Must be a current undergrad/grad student

– Have good communications and interpersonal skills

– Attention to detail

– Strong interest in startup, entrepreneurship, innovation is a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

– Strong interest in startup, entrepreneurship, innovation is a plus
– Interest or knowledge in Biotech, Engineering Tech, Nanotech, IT, or Space-Tech is a plus

 

Stipend:

– $1,100 per cohort [$2,200 for two cohorts, DC location]

– $1,100 for SF location
